Pop Art in Print – Banbury Museum supported by Technique Print
Pop Art in Print in Banbury
We are always pleased when we can support community projects in the art and design community, and so it was with much excitement that we agreed to partner with Banbury Museum to sponsor their Pop Art in Print exhibition, which has been organised by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
The show has been touring all around the UK and is now based in Banbury until Sunday 3rd March 2019.
Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein & Damien Hirst
Including Pop Art graphics from the Victoria and Albert Museum, the exhibition showcases work by some of the most iconic artists of the 60s and 70s, as well as contemporary artists.
According to the organisers, ‘the era of Pop Art reflected a fascination with celebrities and brands.’ Importantly, Pop artists recognised the potential of prints to communicate ideas quickly and cheaply.
The movement generated an innovative and prolific culture of printmaking. The exhibition showcases over 60 works by more than 30 artists, ranging from the 1960s to the early 2000s and is well worth a visit.
